Avanade breaks world record at Grace Hopper Conference

Avanade made history at the 2016 Grace Hopper Conference by smashing the official Guinness World Record for the most contributions to a computer program in 24 hours.

Requiring 250 participants to contribute one line of code to the program, Avanade’s sought-after exhibitor stand closed the day with 806 individual contributions. The Guinness Record attempt took place within Avanade’s exhibitor booth that showcased the company’s commitment to tech innovation and diversity - as well as its fun spirit.

The program was developed by members of Avanade Innovation Labs, and participants were asked to code answers to the question “What was the boldest move you’ve made that had a positive impact on your life?” The collected answers have been added to an app allowing users to generate ideas and inspiration to break out of their comfort zone.

The Grace Hopper Conference is the world’s largest gathering of women in tech and Avanade was a platinum sponsor for the 2016 event that saw more than 15,000 female attendees over three days.
