“A big trend in the work I do is around the As-a-Service economy and privacy related aspects,” declares Nishita Kishor a Manager in EY’s Advisory practice. “Clients are asking “Is our data secure in the cloud?”, “What are the implications of the cloud not being located in Australia?”, “Are we ready to move to the cloud?”
Most of the work that Nishita is involved in centres around advising organisations on how they can provide their strategic objectives through technology enablement activities. On a day-to-day basis, she might be engaged in doing reviews of business cases to confirm the viability of an initiative, development of sourcing activities to support delivery of business value, presenting findings to C-Suite on next steps of their transformation journey or reviewing a client’s current landscape against industry leading practices.
Working with leading experts
“EY Australia has a unique position in that it takes a holistic approach to the challenges faced by clients around tech security and cyber,” explains Nishita. “Our engagements are usually resourced with a multi-disciplinary team of leading professionals from EYC3, our Cyber, Technology and People Advisory practices to bring data, technology, people, processes and legal lenses for our clients.”
A wide variety of exciting work
Nishita was attracted to working for EY Australia because of its people-focused culture and the drive to building a better world. Being an adaptable and creative individual, she finds the work culture well suited to her interests. “I really enjoy the variety of work, the range of clients we serve and getting the opportunity to work with my colleagues from different service areas across Australia,” says Nishita. These aspects have enabled Nishita to gain great exposure to understanding the challenges faced in different markets around Australia and to deliver value to clients - something she finds highly rewarding.
A great sense of accomplishment
“Having the opportunity to work with clients from different sectors, with different challenges and needs, means that you’re often immersed and work swiftly to deliver valuable insights. I find this particularly rewarding because it teaches me to be a fast-learner and a highly resourceful individual, and it enables me to deliver work that I feel proud of and gain a great sense of accomplishment from.”
Nishita believes that if women are willing to push themselves and wanting to grow their career, then this is certainly an organisation where women can be supported to achieve their goals and have an enriching career. “I can very confidently say that I’m thriving well at EY Australia,” remarks Nishita.
