Director, Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services – New Zealand

Join Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services (FIDS) within Assurance and you will help clients work through complex issues of fraud, regulatory compliance and business disputes. You will be part of a multidisciplinary, culturally aligned team that works with clients and their legal advisors.

The successful candidate will join one of Oceania’s fastest growing forensic practices. Our multi-disciplined FIDS team includes accountants, technology specialists and ex-regulatory and law enforcement professionals.

The opportunity

This is a practice leader role. Reporting to the Oceania Managing Partner, you will play a key role in growing EY’s New Zealand FIDS practice. In this role you will be working on some of the largest high profile disputes, investigations and regulatory matters in one of the most exciting areas of professional services. You will work closely with an experienced Partner group that will support you in driving growth within the New Zealand market.

Your key responsibilities

This role will be responsible for:
Building valued relationships with external clients, principally large corporates, government agencies, law firms, regulators and internal peers to develop a portfolio of projects by focusing on high value opportunities.
Working closely with major clients to understand and resolve their complex fraud, corruption and dispute issues, ensuring high quality project delivery
Drive further growth and eminence in the domestic market
Leadership, growth and development of the local FIDS team

To qualify for the role you must have
Prior experience as an accountant, corporate compliance or fraud and corruption risk management professional
A track record of business development, growing business revenue from both existing and new client relationships
Previous experience in leading teams, coaching, mentoring and developing staff
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience leading client engagements
Experience within a similar consulting environment is highly desirable.
A knowledge of accounting concepts and GAAP
Membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent
