Senior Surveyor (SCIMS & CORS)

Salary: Departmental Officer Grade 11 maximum salary package up to $127,085p.a. Package includes salary ($121,917 – 127,085p.a), and employer’s contribution to superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.

Job Status: Ongoing under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.

Spatial Services, a division of the Department of Finance, Service and Innovation, is the key provider of spatial land information services in New South Wales. Spatial Services' integrated framework connects the people of NSW to a comprehensive package of land and property services including property information, surveying and mapping. Spatial Services' provides land information services to individuals, businesses, government agencies and non-profit organisations throughout NSW, Australia and internationally.

Reporting to the Manager Positioning - Survey Operations, you will be leading and managing Survey Information and Systems team operations supporting the sourcing, maintenance, presentation and exchange of spatial and related information to achieve the required program outcomes for the Survey Control Information Management System (SCIMS) and CORSnet-NSW.

This role involves managing complex and dynamic operational issues emanating from a variety of sources including field survey activities, technical systems, competing program priorities, availability of resources and diverse client needs. Evaluating and implementing new applications and software for data capture and management while maintaining business as usual. Solving problems of a complex technical natural while ensuring consistency and currency of information and standards within an environment of change and priorities variation

To be successful in the position you will have;

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current information technologies employed in capturing and managing spatial information.
A Bachelor Degree in Surveying (or equivalent) is required as well as relevant survey operations management experience. Current NSW drivers licence is required.
