We are looking for a Specialist Capital Projects IS&T to manage a selection of standard and customised toolsets that support major capital projects which are used within Project Services for the Rio Tinto Projects organisation within G&I
Rio Tinto Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) operates across six key areas that enable better alignment with customer priorities, end-to-end accountability and flexibility to prioritise critical work.
What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical analysis, design and implementation of customised tools and working closely with business stakeholders to engage, validate requirements and implement optimised improvements Reporting to the Manager I&OT Project Controls, you will be:
Act as a subject matter expert for project systems including project controls systems and reporting solutions (both off the shelf vendor products and internally developed systems)
Identify and implement business improvements for customised solutions and prepare cost/effort estimates for proposed solutions.
Manage Rio Tinto Projects and IS&T engagement and relationship for selected suite of project systems.
Establish and own governance relationship for selected suite of project systems.
Facilitate the knowledge transfer and STS process for relevant optimisations and solutions.
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Degree qualified or higher in IT, Project Management or related degree
Technical architecture with proven capability in conceptualisation, architecture, design and implementation of applications
Exposure to various development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Prototyping etc)
Excellent collaboration, influencing and negotiation abilities, with stakeholders including senior leaders.
Strong ability to work independently and to drive continuous improvement
Flexibility to work in a global team environment
It will also be beneficial if you have:
Internal knowledge of Rio Tinto organisation as well as capital project methodologies for reporting will be highly regarded
Technical skills in Tableau, K2, Filenet, data integration, database design will be highly regarded
